Tuesday
What a night of Wind and Rain.
04:30 Earl is walking all over the house making noise that woke me.
07:00 I hear dad talking to Earl and after a quick look out the window I go downstairs to discuss the lousy weather.
It was forecast to be sunny but we have low clouds, fog patches and rain. It sucks and I don’t feel like riding in this heavy rain.
I make us breakfast of pancakes and coffee then get cleaned up and the start to read a book on prayer.
After lunch it appears to be clearing up a bit and we have been told it’s not raining in Baddeck.
14:00 and we are loaded and ready to ride in the light rain.
We take the back road to Neil’s Harbour to avoid the construction on the trail and man it’s windy.
Look at the raging roll the sea has on.

15:20 We make in to the ferry in Englishtown in no time and the weather is cool but no rain.

We make a stop at the Farmers Daughter for a warm up of coffee and oatcakes.
We make the causeway by 17:30 and I decide to try the coast Hwy called Marine drive that heads towards Halifax. Its a nice ride but it’s cool and raining a bit.
We take the road to Canso (by mistake) and then double back to a motel and restaurant we saw going in as it is getting on 19:00.
The Last Port Motel is our room for the night and we have to eat right away as the kitchen is closed but they are willing to feed us. Dad and I order the turkey dinner and get tea to go so we can have oatcakes in our room for dessert.

The motel is empty except us and two other rooms being used.
22:25 and I’ve got the blog up and I’m tired so good nite all.
