Cape North N.S. to Calgary Day 1

Day 1 (well maybe)

We planned on Leaving on Sunday after church but I decided that I should have the front tire replaced as it was wearing down quickly.

I had to wait until Monday for the fellows in Middle River to be open to check and make sure they had one. I had another day to visit my brother and sister-in-law. Which meant more homemade ice cream.

Dave made some ice cream Saturday night and there was some left over for Monday night.

After a quick call I was told they could change the tire in the afternoon so after a bit of cleaning at Earls I made my way over to Middle River which takes about an hour and a half.

The weather was perfect and Dad didn’t feel like going so I was all alone to crank it in the turns. Yep it was a quick trip and lots of fun.

The fellows replaced the tire within an hour and I was back on the road to Cape North via Cheticamp. I need to stop at the COOP for Earl and the bakery in Cheticamp.

I also haven’t eaten since 07:00 so I’ll stop for a late lunch or early dinner.

I stopped and checked out the menu at the Happy Clam and passed on it. Paulette (sister-in-law) suggested that I try the fish at the Mid Trail Motel & Restaurant in Pleasant Bay some time so today will be it.
