797 mi — about 13 hours, 49 mins
06:15 I can’t believe I’m awake. A good bed and only a little noise from the a/c but I’m up. Dad’s snoring so I went to the bathroom to get ready and when I came out I said” oh you’re up”
“Oh ya I’ve been up for awhile”. LOL
We grab some juice from the breakfast mess and head outside.
Here’s the motel:
The bike needs a cleanup and another repack.
Yesterday morning when I went to put my helmet on I notice something was all over the back of it and then I noticed the back of my jacket has a light brown stain on it, Any idea how my back got covered in coffee?
Ok I bet you were wondering what a Yooper and pasties are.
Upper Pennisila = UP
U.P. = Yoopers
The Yooper dialect is a sub-variety of the North Central dialect of American English, native to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which gives the variety its name (from “U.P.” for Upper Peninsula).
Pasties are a number of Pasty.
The Pasty was brought over from Cornwall, England in the early 1850’s when the copper and iron mines were first opened. The miners loved them because they could stick them in their pocket and take them into the mine with them so they had their lunch. So we give all the credit to the cornish miners from England who brought us this delicious meal.
Pasties consists of a crust filled with diced potatoes, rutabagas, carrots, onions & ground beef seasoned to perfection. Now some people combine ground pork, ground beef, and ground lean beef. Now a days they even have chicken, veggie, apple, cherry and even a breakfast one.

Now when we go through the UP we get a pasty. I love the apple.
Today we are only 35 minutes away from where we buy our pasties so we will stop there for breakfast.
We arrived to early for pasties as they open at 09:00 so we went down to the car wash and cleaned up the bike and then filled the gas.
09:00 Time to meet the pasty. We decide to buy two meat and two apple. Dad was looking for apple pie yesterday and I guess the apple crisp he had at the buffet didn’t count as pie so he’s having pie for breakfast.
Oh how I love the Pasty

09:30 and we are off for an eastern destination to be determined by the number of stops and darkness. We plan on going down along the side of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron from St Ignace to Port Huron and we will cross back into Canada and go straight across to Niagara Falls.
From there we will travel across the bottom of Lake Erie and travel North East towards New Hampshire & Vermont.
I love going this way and seeing all the little towns. Bill, not so much. He likes to go from A to B as fast as he can. To bad he’s not the one driving. LOL
The area around Marquette is really nice. Plenty of cottages and resorts.
We went down a scenic route (Hwy 94) that was one the map from Munising to Manistique on Lake Michigan and all we saw were trees, yep trees.

From there we followed the lakes to a big bridge that cost me six bucks American to cross. Go figure we only have three wheels and weigh 1000 pounds but we were charged 2 dollars more than a car because we tow a trailer. Humm government logic at work.
After crossing The Mackinac Bridge we took Hwy 23 down the side of Lake Huron to Bay City and then the freeway to Flint and Port Huron.

We crossed the border into Ontario heading across from Sarnia to Niagara Falls but darkness set in and we made it only as far as Brantford.
As we were riding today I was thinking about all the crappy motels TJ and I have stayed in because we never booked ahead and when we went to find one they were full, anyway I asked God for a nice room at a reasonable rate and right away the thought came ” it will be the first one I take you to”
I am pretty much in tune to His Spirit and I know the truth when I hear it so I had to smile and thank Him when we walked into the Days Inn and got a nice room at a reasonable price.
I normally look for a McDonalds so I can use the wifi to search for a room on Tripadvisor so I took the off ramp for the Golden Arches and then I saw the Days Inn, humm the first one He brought us to.
I was just telling TJ when we came off the freeway onto the off ramp we came to a stoplight and we needed to make a left turn and off course the light was red.
We waited a few minutes and I then heard my Dad say “there you go” meaning the light had changed but I just sat there thinking for a minute and just when I was about to let the clutch out an SUV ran through the red light doing at least 60. The blonde bimbo didn’t slow up one bit. We would have been crushed.
Do you ever wonder why He makes you wait and stay still. Thank you all so much for your prayers of protection, angels are sent before us and we walk in his protection if we listen.
Listen carefully today, He’s speaking to you in your spirit, He has something for you, so be still and listen. It will save your life.
20:30 All checked in and eating apple pasty for supper. LOL
Well it’s now 11:30 and I’m beat talk at you later!
Ev & Bill forever in His grip! PTL for He is good!
